[The sea is nothing particularly special to Bedivere. Having lived on an island for most of his natural life, he was no stranger to sandy beaches. The main advantage tropical beaches had for him was much nicer weather.

However, Irisviel hadn't seen the beach for herself, and that's why Bedivere is taking her there now. Already in vacation wear, he leads the way for her down to the beach from the resort they're staying at.]

You'll see the shore as we reach the top of this dune.

[As Bedivere says, the moment they follow the pathway to the top of the dune, the sea is clearly visible. It's a vastly different experience from seeing the shoreline from the view of an airliner.]

[Today was one of those days where the job just got to Athrun more than normal. By the time he got home from work, he was simply exhausted. All he wanted to do was curl up and sleep for a day or so -- assuming his work ethic would let him. He's likely to burn out if he keeps pushing himself.

Which might be why Hanayo wanted to cook him something. Athrun tried to say he was fine, but it was plain as day that he really wasn't. So he found himself sitting in the living room, waiting for dinner. He knew it was going to be a rice dish, but he was OK with that. As long as it would fill up his empty stomach and dispel some of the fog lingering in his mind.

Sometimes they fight. Especially when Utau is being a stupid tsundere like today. But then when he throws a line about how he thinks he should leave because she obviously hates him...

No. No no no, does that mean Ren's about to leave her too? Not that they're even together together, they just seem to spend a lot of time together because one of them (mostly he) comes to find her whenever and no matter where she's more or less hiding...

"That's not...! You got it all wrong, stupid idiot! ... ...I love you."

... Well. She sure says that and she's instantly blushing right after realizing it but yes, she's finally admitting it even when idols shouldn't feel that way.

[For Athrun, formal parties are just a part of his life. He never really enjoys them, as there usually is never anyone there he wants to talk to. However, this time was different. He had a date.

She was technically his Servant, but she was also his date. At least tonight.

After the auction and dinner end, the dance floor opens up. Athrun, content with the food now in his belly, gets out of his chair and offers Rider his hand.]

May I have this dance?

[Rider is not very used to being in a dance dress, nor is she used to being in a formal party as a date either. It's strange, not going out to fight once in a while.

Her Master was even asking her to dance. She takes his hand after a moment of hesitation.]

If that's what Master wishes.

[Athrun grips Rider's hand in his and pulls gently on her arm to help her out of her seat, then leads her onto the dance floor by the hand. He places his free hand behind her back and holds her close to him.]

If you decide you've had enough, just let me know, all right? I don't want to force you into anything you dislike.

[Rider puts her free hand on his shoulder, looking a bit bashful like this. It had been a long time since she had danced in anyway and it certainly wasn't a ballroom dance. But she knew how to, at least.]

Understood. But worry not, this is not uncomfortable to me.

[With that, Athrun begins to lead the two of them into a dance. He keeps it simple at first, to allow his partner to adapt, at least for now.]

Is this your first time at an event like this?

[Rider nods at the question.]

The parties of my time were vastly different and I rarely attended those either.

I see. That's too bad.

[He probably should have figured that out on his own. He knows that Medusa lived on an island alone with her two sisters already.]

In that case, I'm glad all the more that you're here now. I hope I can show you a good time.

You shouldn't need to worry about me having a 'good time'... I was summoned as your weapon, Master.

That's not the way I see it. Or rather, it's not that I won't see it that way, it's that I can't. Even if I wanted to.

[Athrun is no stranger to have people under his command. And, even if they are officially deemed expendable, Athrun will not ever consider them as such. He knows all too well what it's like to have one's efforts be in vain, especially in his brushes with death.]

You're still an individual. You have your own thoughts, your own desires, and things you like and dislike. I know this because you answered the summoning. And it's nothing to dismiss as insignificant. Our thoughts, our emotions, our dreams -- we have them for a reason, and they should always be taken into account. It doesn't matter who or what you are -- as long as you're with me, I will do my best to treat you the same way I would treat anyone else.

[Though Athrun speaks with conviction, his voice also comes off as gentle. He speaks softly, of course, given the subject, but even despite that, he speaks gently.]

[There's a small hint of a blush on her face when Athrun talks. That wasn't what she had expected at all. Then again, her Master had shown kindness like this before. She just never expected to be on the receiving end of it.]

I see. I seem to have misjudged our relationship, then.

[Athrun's tone remains gentle. Partly so the other people on the dance floor don't hear, but also because he wants to make sure he doesn't sound accusatory.]
