Hibari was the epitome of the Cloud and he enjoyed his distance, hated when he had to be "called in", hated more when they gave him these idiotic things they called "missions". He is no one's errand boy and when he is told he will have a partner, well, he just about decides it's the perfect day to the bite the sky itself. All before he is even told or more he even sees who the partner is.
Considering how quick that tonfa slicked out, those eyes went hard, feral, everyone decided that for their own survival they would let the partner show himself.
He is standing in the corner of the room, eyes glinting at the door, arms folded and ready for war already, waiting for the partner they mentioned to appear and he is not speaking to anyone at the moment.
Mukuro enjoyed having his own body back, but he didn't enjoy the fact that he remained a Mist Guardian. Chrome was one, too, of course, but it was sort of a dual kind of a deal nowadays.
At least it meant he had more opportunities to try and possess Tsuna. All he had to do was act like he was actually part of the family until an opportunity presented itself. Take on some missions. Easy stuff.
Well except when apparently the partner he was assigned this time happened to be Hibari Kyouya. Who else would it be, in the room he walked in, other than the Cloud Guardian who usually never attended these kinds of meetings.
"Is it a mission to kill each other, because if it is, you picked the right candidates."
There were a lot of things that Hibari disliked, more than he liked in fact but the thing or one should say the person he disliked the most was Rokudo Mukuro.
His eyes are sharp as knives cut to the man when he walks in, then to the one who is sending him on the mission. It is an instinctive reaction, tonfas released, body tense and he nearly launches at the man in sheer surprise because they can not be serious.
"You can not expect this to end well."
For once, as much as he won't admit it, that would be the only mission they could work well on together, instead, it seems they are to go take on a large enemy force instead and get information on who is sending them.
"I'll bite you to death when this is finished." Hopefully, someone follows along for the inevitable end, for now, Hibari clips past Mukuro, mission orders in, hand and ready to have this over and done with so he can rid himself of his rival.
[Yamamoto has long since stopped thinking of the mafia as a game; however that does not mean he has lost the boyish smile or the happy laughter. In fact, these are two things he most certainly clings to keep himself sane in a world that can go mad on occasion.
He has worked with Jean before, usually in a team but today is their first solo mission.
Yamamoto is, as usual, half-dressed up half casual self, suit on but his tie is loose around his neck and the first few buttons of his shirt are undone. Spikey hair a little ruffled there is that grin on his face as he steps in Tsuna's office a short knock so they can get their mission details and be on their way.]
[How long had he already been in Japan, just doing support tasks for Vongola tenth and his guardians? Jean wasn't even sure, but he hadn't received an order to return to Italy so here he was. Frankly, he was glad to have some vacation from certain idiots coughErencough back home, so he didn't mind.
Out of all of his friends, he was the only one he really knew about who worked for a mafia. They just thought he was living with a relative to help their family business or something. Well, not too far away from truth. He preferred to keep it that way.
Besides, he had found pretty good friends here, too and enjoyed spending time with people he didn't have to hide his true profession with. Working or being a temporary transfer student.
Jean opted out of having a tie but otherwise he looked pretty formal. He kept in a chuckle at Gokudera's scowl when he arrived with Yamamoto. The Storm Guardian had never actually liked Jean all that much. Instead he kept a very neutral look on his face as he greeted Tsuna.]
[Of the Guardians the Rain is surely the easiest to get along with, the Cloud the easiest to forget about since he rarely shows his face at these kinds of meetings. Yamamoto is looking forward to working with Jean.
They mesh well, better sometimes than him and his partner as Gokudera still tends to be harsher on the Rain than any of the other Guardians, a treatment Jean knows well having been subjected to it himself.
Yamamoto hears the suppressed chuckle and so of course the man lets out one of his own, leaning over to whisper to Jean in a louder than need be tone just to tease Gokudera.]
My tie is crooked and you're not in a suit, I wonder who broke the biggest Mafia fashion rule today, me or you.
[Even Tsuna can not help but laugh as he opens a folder and slides it over, normally Yamamoto would pick it up and read the details but he wants Jean to know he is truly a part of this mission and that they are equals so he motions his partner forward, they can read the brief together or Jean can go first.]
[Okay, fine, he will chuckle out loud when Yamamoto says that. It's true, they were quite the duo when you thought about it.
Jean looks at Yamamoto when he doesn't take the file, a little confused that he's being offered to do it instead. But also... grateful. It means a lot for him to feel like he belongs.
He reaches out to take the file and then returns next to Yamamoto so they can look over it together, smiling.]
[Jean a relative newcomer and Yamamoto a Japanese mafioso who tries not to kill, despite being as deadly as can be. They are quite the team. But Yamamoto likes it that way, sure he and Gokudera work well together but sometimes it's nice to not have a partner who is always snarking at you.
Yamamoto smiles, a companionable arm slung around Jean's shoulder as he leans in to read the file, simple enough of a task, they try to keep from giving him ones he may have to kill.
That does not mean he won't but hopefully they can pull this off without it. He flashes that still boyish charmed grin at Jean.]
Could be fun, you ready, partner?
[Of course the bomber scoffs, comments about being so carefree mumbled under his breath.]
